Darfur Victims Support Organization and Hope & Haven Refugees Organization launched a community kitchen for the displaced people fleeing Al-Fashir and its camps (Abu Shouk, Abuja, and Zamzam) in the Korma Administrative Unit on Sunday, May 18, 2025. The kitchen targeted women, children, the elderly, children with special needs, and senior citizens. Approximately 150 families in Korma and the Selek camp for the displaced were targeted. The Korma Unit is considered one of the most important reception centers for those fleeing Al-Fashir, with about 500,000 people having arrived there so far, who are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. Malnutrition cases have emerged among children and women, especially with the lack of primary healthcare for women and girls. The two organizations are launching an urgent humanitarian appeal to all local, regional, and international organizations.
