Report on the Progress of the Charitable Kitchen for the Two Organizations in Silek Camp for Displaced Persons in Korma Administrative Unit, North Darfur State, El Fasher.
The collective kitchen’s operation continued for the sixth consecutive day on May 23, 2025.
Volunteers from both organizations continued to provide food to displaced persons fleeing from El Fasher and its camps, including Abu Shouk, Abuja, and Zamzam, in addition to Silik Camp in the Korma administrative unit.
Approximately 160 meals were distributed, targeting women, children, the elderly, people with disabilities and special needs, and widows.
There is an urgent humanitarian need for more support for the kitchen to meet the needs of the displaced, as the influx of displaced persons continues daily, with 120 to 150 families arriving from El Fasher and Khazan Golo due to the ongoing clashes between the conflicting parties.
There is only one health center, suffering from a lack of medical supplies and health cadres, as well as primary care for women. Its capacity cannot meet the needs of more than half a million displaced people.
The two organizations are launching an urgent humanitarian appeal to all local, regional, and international organizations for urgent intervention.
