Humanitarian efforts continue to support displaced people in Darfur, with an emergency drinking water distribution operation targeting 200 families in Al-Jadida Camp, west of Diba Naira. The initiative was carried out in partnership between The Darfur Victims Advocacy Organization and The Safe Haven Organization, aiming to meet the needs of families lacking access to safe water sources.
The operation included 50 barrels of potable water, with each family receiving three jerrycans (water containers). This intervention took place on June 5, 2025, in response to the difficult humanitarian situation of those fleeing conflicts in areas such as Al-Fashir, Abu Shouk Camp, Zamzam Camp, and Naivasha Camp.
Representatives of the organizations emphasized that this initiative is part of urgent interventions to address water shortages that threaten public health, especially amid rising temperatures. They also noted that cooperation will continue to expand the scope of support to include other displacement areas suffering from severe shortages in basic services.
