Displaced persons fleeing from El Fasher and its camps have been arriving in East Darfur State (Ed Daein), specifically in Shurairiya Locality, Jdeed Reservoir Unit. Since May 2025, around 140 families—approximately 11,000 individuals, mostly women, children, and the elderly—have sought refuge there. They have taken temporary shelter in the “Ibn Zaidoun” and “Al Zahraa” schools, facing catastrophic humanitarian conditions.
According to interviews conducted by the organization, the displaced have reported receiving no humanitarian aid from relief agencies since their arrival, except for limited efforts by the local community. As the rainy season nears, concerns are mounting due to:
- Lack of rainproof tarpaulins
- Absence of sanitation facilities (toilets)
- Rising cases of malnutrition, especially among children
These factors collectively signal an impending humanitarian disaster.
The organization urgently appeals to all local, regional, and international organizations to intervene and provide:
- Food and medical assistance
- Emergency shelter supplies (tarpaulins, blankets, hygiene kits)
- Construction of emergency sanitation facilities
