🛑 Urgent Call Regarding the Humanitarian and Health Situation in South Kordofan State – Kadugli

The Organization for the Advocacy of Darfur Victims conducted interviews with several residents in the city of Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan State. Citizens reported that humanitarian volunteers—particularly emergency response teams and organizations—have been targeted by military intelligence and the army’s security unit.

They also stated that the army controls the market, where certain officers have formed a corrupt network with some traders. This network allegedly manipulates the flow of goods, including aid supplies, while security agencies contribute to scarcity and soaring prices.

Residents added that no new goods have entered Kadugli for over a month due to the siege imposed by the Sudan People’s Movement. The group controls key access routes such as the Dashoul and Samsam areas, the Petroleum Street intersection, and the main road linking Kadugli to Dilling—the city’s only remaining lifeline, especially critical during the rainy season.

Prices have skyrocketed to unprecedented levels:

  • 1 kg of beef: 22,000 SDG
  • One jerrycan of gasoline: 700,000 SDG
  • One jerrycan of diesel: 550,000 SDG
  • A bowl of onions: 70,000 SDG
  • A sack of sorghum: 280,000 SDG
  • 1 kg of lentils: 25,000 SDG

The organization calls upon the Sudan People’s Movement to lift the siege on the city and allow the safe movement of civilians, aid convoys, and commercial goods. It also urges local, regional, and international organizations to intervene immediately to provide humanitarian support to the citizens of Kadugli and the affected areas.
