ترحب منظمة مناصرة ضحايا دارفور بقرار الاتحاد الأوروبي الذي صدر في ١٨ يوليو ٢٠٢٥م بفرض عقوبات اقتصادية علي أبو عاقلة كيكل قايد قوات درع السودان السودان وحسين برشم أحد قادة الدعم السريع في كردفان، علما بأن المنظمة وثقت انتهاكات خطيرة ترتقي إلي جرايم حرب وجرائم ضد الإنسانية ارتكبت بواسطة ابوعاقلة كيكل وقوات تحت اشراف الجيش ضد سكان الكنابي في الجزيرة خلال يناير ٢٠٢٥م وحتي يوليو ٢٠٢٥م، علي الاتحاد الأوروبي إدراج قادة الجيش كذلك في العقوبات لأن تمويل وتسليح قوات درج يأتي من وزارة الدفاع مباشرة ،تأمل المنظمة إن تساهم العقوبات في الضغط علي أطراف النزاع لوقف الحرب.
We welcome the decision by the European Union issued on July 18, 2025, to impose economic sanctions on Abu Aqla Kikil, commander of Sudan Shield Forces, and Hussein Barsham, a leader of the Rapid Support Forces in Kordofan. The organization has documented serious violations amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Abu Aqla Kikil and forces under army supervision against the Kanabi residents in Al-Jazira between January and July 2025.
The organization urges the European Union to also include army commanders in the sanctions, as funding and arming of the Sudan Shield Forces comes directly from the Ministry of Defense.
The organization hopes these sanctions will help pressure the warring parties to stop the war.
