The Youth Gathering of Mellit Locality in North Darfur State, El Fasher, issued a statement on October 13, 2025, calling on the Rapid Support Forces, the civil administration official, and the executive director to stop using the hazardous cyanide substance that harms the environment. The organization appeals to the Rapid Support Forces to cease using cyanide in order to protect humans and the environment.
