The Hope and Haven Refugees Organization, in partnership with the Darfur Victims Support Organization (DVSO), has successfully distributed 100 Ramadan food baskets. The distribution targeted internally displaced persons (IDPs) and victims of the recent fire residing in makeshift shelters (Rawakeeb and Karanik), many of whom are living without walls or adequate protection.
The beneficiaries are suffering from an acute shortage of water, shelter, and shade as the summer season approaches, in addition to a complete lack of basic building materials to reconstruct their homes. The local community expressed deep gratitude for this initiative, which brought hope to their hearts amid these harsh humanitarian conditions.
Despite the significance of this intervention, the needs remain far greater than the available resources. A large number of families were unable to receive food baskets due to the steadily increasing number of displaced persons in the area.
🚨 We issue an urgent call to all local, regional, and international organizations for immediate intervention to support response efforts and bridge the massive gap in meeting the basic needs of these forgotten families.
