DVSO Hosts Delegation from Germany on Advancing Accountability and Justice in Sudan

We are pleased to announce that on 8 April 2026, we hosted a distinguished delegation from Germany representing the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR). The visit marked an important opportunity to strengthen international cooperation and reinforce shared commitments to justice, accountability, and the protection of civilians affected by conflict.

During the engagement, Darfur Victims Support Organization and the delegation held in-depth discussions focusing on the urgent need to advance accountability mechanisms for violations committed against civilians in Sudan. Both parties acknowledged the ongoing challenges in ensuring justice for victims and emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between local organizations and international human rights institutions. The dialogue underscored the critical role that cross-border collaboration can play in addressing impunity and supporting victims’ rights.

A key area of discussion was the potential for strategic partnership in promoting accountability through legal and advocacy channels. DVSO highlighted its ongoing work in documenting human rights violations and supporting affected communities, while the delegation shared insights into international legal frameworks and avenues for pursuing justice at regional and global levels.

Furthermore, DVSO emphasized the continued need for robust monitoring, documentation, and reporting mechanisms. These efforts are essential in building credible, evidence-based advocacy initiatives that can inform policy decisions, support legal actions, and raise global awareness of the situation in Sudan. Reliable documentation not only preserves the voices and experiences of victims but also serves as a foundation for long-term justice and reconciliation processes.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to explore concrete areas of collaboration, including capacity building, information sharing, and joint advocacy initiatives. DVSO looks forward to strengthening this partnership and contributing to sustained efforts aimed at protecting human rights and promoting accountability.

DVSO remains dedicated to its mission of supporting victims, amplifying their voices, and working alongside partners to ensure that justice is pursued and upheld.
