On October 19, 2025, the Darfur Victims Support Organization (DVSO), Hope and Haven for Refugees Association (HHRA), and Habitat Defenders Africa (HDA) joined forces to support 75 women-headed households in Ndeeba, Kampala, devastated by early October floods. Each family received maize flour, beans, and cooking oil, offering vital relief and restoring dignity amid loss. Beyond aid, the initiative symbolized gratitude from refugee-led organizations to Uganda’s host communities. It highlighted the power of solidarity, gender-responsive action, and shared resilience as climate change continues to endanger vulnerable urban populations across the region.
