The Darfur Victims Support Organization (DVSO) has received reports from eyewitnesses in El Daein, East Darfur State, regarding a drone strike launched by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) today, Monday, April 13, 2026.
According to preliminary data, at approximately 11:10 AM Sudan time, a drone targeted multiple civilian areas, including:
West of the Central Market.
Al-Nazir Neighborhood (near Al-Muntazah).
West of the State Ministry of Health.
Eyewitnesses reported casualties among civilians, though final figures for the dead and injured are still being confirmed due to conflicting early reports. The organization is currently conducting a field investigation to document the full impact and will issue a detailed report as soon as verified information is available.
The organization condemns the continued targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure. We call on the Sudanese Army to immediately cease attacks on residential areas and to strictly adhere to International Humanitarian Law, which mandates the protection of civilians and prohibits indiscriminate strikes.
