Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement, Uganda
Hope and Haven Refugees Organization and Darfur Victims Support Organization, in collaboration with Yes She Is for Peace and Development Organization, successfully organized a Psychosocial Support Workshop in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement, Uganda. The workshop aimed to support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of refugees and displaced communities affected by conflict and displacement. 
👩🏽🤝👩🏾 A total of 25 women beneficiaries participated in the workshop, creating a safe and inclusive environment for dialogue, emotional expression, and mutual support. Participants represented different age groups and community backgrounds within the settlement. 
🩺 Main workshop topics included:
✔️ Mental health and psychosocial support awareness
✔️ Stress and emotional management
✔️ Positive coping mechanisms
✔️ Community support and social cohesion
✔️ Safe spaces and emotional expression
✔️ Psychological impacts of conflict and displacement 
🤝 The workshop used interactive and participatory methods, including:
- Group discussions
- Story-sharing sessions
- Emotional expression exercises
- Active listening and mutual support activities
- Reflection and problem-solving sessions
✨ Key Outcomes:
- Increased awareness of mental health and psychosocial wellbeing
- Improved stress management skills and positive coping strategies
- Reduced feelings of isolation among participants
- Strengthened community solidarity and social connections
- Enhanced confidence in discussing psychosocial challenges openly
💬 Participants expressed appreciation for the workshop and emphasized the importance of continuing psychosocial support programs within refugee communities to strengthen resilience, dignity, and hope.
